Which wheelchair is right for you?
The main question is who pushes the chair and how big the rider is. A standard wheelchair has large rear wheels so the rider can self-propel, and it's the best all-around choice for recovery and daily use. A lightweight wheelchair does the same job with a lighter frame that's easier to lift into a car. A transport chair has small wheels and is meant to be pushed by a caregiver — the lightest, most compact option for appointments and travel. A heavy-duty wheelchair adds a reinforced frame and a wider 22" or 24" seat with a 350 lb capacity for larger riders who need more room and support. If you're not sure, call and describe the situation and we'll match you to the right chair.
