Orthopedic Braces & Support

How to choose the right brace

Braces come in different support levels. The right one depends on how much support you need and what you are doing. If you are recovering from surgery or an injury, follow what your doctor or physical therapist recommends.

Compression sleeves

Lightweight elastic or neoprene sleeves that provide gentle compression and warmth. Often chosen for mild aches, swelling, or everyday activity.

Best for: light, all-day support.

Wraps & straps

Adjustable supports and targeted straps that add stability to a specific area, such as a tennis elbow strap or a wrap-style knee support.

Best for: targeted, adjustable support.

Hinged & rigid braces

Structured braces with hinges or firm frames that limit motion and add maximum stability, including immobilizers and post-op braces.

Best for: maximum stability, recovery, post-op.

Getting the right size

Fit matters. A brace that is too loose will not support well, and one that is too tight is uncomfortable. Each product lists its own sizing chart, usually based on a measurement around the joint or limb. If you are between sizes or not sure, call us or visit the showroom and we will help you measure and try it on. Getting the fit right in person is one of the biggest reasons customers choose a local provider over an online-only seller.

Orthopedic braces: common questions

How do I choose the right brace?

Start with the body part and how much support you need. Compression sleeves give light, all-day support, wraps and straps add targeted stability, and hinged or rigid braces provide maximum stability for recovery or post-op use. If it is for a medical condition or after surgery, follow your doctor or physical therapist's recommendation, and call us if you would like help comparing options.

What size brace do I need, and how do I measure?

Each brace has its own sizing chart, usually based on a measurement around the joint or limb (for example, around the knee or the wrist). Check the size chart on the product page, and if you are between sizes or unsure, call us or visit the showroom and we will help you measure and try one on.

Do I need a prescription to buy a brace?

Most braces and supports can be purchased directly without a prescription. Some situations, such as certain post-surgical or custom braces, may involve a provider's recommendation. If you are unsure, call us and we will help.

Does insurance cover orthopedic braces?

Coverage varies by plan and we cannot guarantee it. We sell braces directly. If coverage matters to you, check with your insurance provider about durable medical equipment and bracing before you buy.

What is the difference between a support sleeve and a hinged brace?

A support sleeve provides gentle compression and warmth for mild aches or everyday activity. A hinged brace has a firm frame or hinges that limit motion and add much more stability, which is why hinged and rigid braces are common after an injury or surgery. Choose based on how much support and motion control you need.
