Can I take the Buzzaround CarryOn HD on an airplane?
Its lithium-ion batteries are removable and designed to meet common airline requirements for travel scooters, which is one of the reasons this model is popular with people who fly. Airline rules vary, so always confirm battery and mobility-device policies with your specific airline before your trip. We are happy to help you understand what to bring.
How far can it travel on a charge?
Golden rates it at up to 21.6 miles combined, about 14.2 miles on the larger 12.5 Ah battery and 7.4 miles on the 6.5 Ah battery. Real-world range depends on the rider's weight, the terrain, inclines, and temperature, so treat these as maximums rather than guarantees.
How much weight can it hold, and is it good for larger riders?
The CarryOn HD supports up to 400 pounds and has a wider stadium-style seat that measures 16 inches by 18 inches. That higher capacity and roomier seat are the main reasons riders choose the HD over a standard travel scooter.
How does it fold, and how heavy is it to lift?
The scooter folds down to less than 14 inches with the seat removed, so it fits in most car trunks and back seats. It weighs 77.5 pounds fully assembled; once you take off the seat and battery, the heaviest single piece is the main body at 52.5 pounds. That is manageable for many people, but if lifting is a concern we can show you lighter options or vehicle lift solutions.
